Pressure Calibration

Pressure calibration is the comparison of the output of a device used to measure pressure with that of another pressure measurement device, or pressure measurement standard. This usually involves plumbing the Device Under Test (DUT) to the standard device and generating a common pressure in the measurement circuit.

This measurement according to the BS EN 837-1: 1998. The scopes of capabilities include pressure gauge, test gauge and etc. The master equipment is traceable to the National Metrology Institute of Malaysia (NMIM).

We at Nusatek can provide in-lab and on-site calibration services for pressure measuring devices from -13.7 up to 36,000 psi.

    Calibration of Digital Test Gauge

Figure at the left shows calibration of a test gauge using a dead weight tester. The test gauge is the Unit Under Test (UUT) and placed on Dead Weight Tester as standard equipments. We cover calibration of test gauge from 0 to 16,000 psi. Digital test gauges and test gauge have accuracy lower (better) than 0.6% of FS. Usually, test gauges are used to measure pressure readings where very high accuracy is needed.

For calibration, we calibrate the pressure equipment using hysteresis performance. It means we take a reading in increasing and decreasing set points. We also test the unit under test at 10 of test points. This gives a high of level of confidence of the readings.

We do this calibration with reference to BS EN 837-1: 1998, we will ensure that the value of the gauge is confidently very close to true value because we practice a ratio of 4:1 in pressure calibration. This means our Standard Reference is 4 times more accurate than the unit under test.

Only competent technicians are authorized to carry out calibration work. Before the calibration process start, we will inspect and clean the instrument as in our procedure for calibration.

In case any instrument has problems such as error being too high, malfunction, etc., we will immediately inform our customer to get advice. We also provide adjustment service if the instrument has too high an error and can be adjusted.

    Calibration of Pressure Gauge

Figure shows about calibration of Pressure gauge using Additel 680. Pressure gauge as Unit Under Test (UUT) and Additel 680 as a reference standard placed on ADT 949 hydraulic high ultra pump. We cover calibration of pressure gauge from 0 to 36,000 psi. Pressure gauges have accuracy above than 0.6% of FS. Usually, pressure gauge are used to measure the pressure reading in industry especially in factory industry, oil and gas industry and many more.

For calibration, we calibrate the pressure equipment using hysteresis performance. It means we take a reading in increasing and decreasing set points. We also test the unit under test in 5 of test points. This gives a high of level of confidence of the readings. In case any instrument has problems such as error is too high, malfunction, etc., we will immediately inform our customer to get advice. We also provide adjustment service if the instrument has too high an error and can be adjusted.
